Editorial guidelines

Image Line’s editorial staff reviews all press releases before distribution to ensure that content is genuine news, accurate and is presented in an acceptable press release format (word file or similar not a pdf). If you pay attention to the guidelines below it will help your press release get approval quickly and distribution.

Your press releases must contain a clear, timely and is newsworthy and free of advertising hype and spam.

Press releases should have the following features/qualities:

Newsworthy Content: News can be about a new product or service, a business expansion, anniversary or recent event, or award win or similar subjects. Not everything is news. We will not accept press releases that are just advertising or an article, open letters and the anything that is just not newsworthy.

Legally Accurate: Your press release must be legal and TLMWnewswire will not publish anything that hasn’t been legal approved If the release references any legal actions then we require a case number, court of record, complaint number or other sufficient documentation for all press releases referencing legal action or criminal matters.

Valid Contact Information: Press releases must contain a person’s name, a valid phone number and an email address in the contact information/editors notes.

Standard Length: Press releases should be between 250 and 800 words.

Standard Grammar and Spelling: All press releases should be written only in English, free of spelling and grammatical errors.

Formatting: All releases should be supplied in either a word file or similar so that the text can be easily cut and pasted. All pictures should be low resolution and in the release, there should be a contact person to request the high-resolution versions.

File Attachment Types:  TLMWnewswire does accept releases that contain links or attachments unless they are: jpeg, gif, png, tiff, bmp, pdf, doc and  ppt. You can have links to video online content within the release, but TLMWnewswire will not distribute any movie files.

Email Addresses: TLMWnewswire does not recommend the use of email addresses within the body of the press release

TLMWnewswire does not distribute:
Advertorials: If your press release is primarily aimed at selling a product or service, then it is an advertorial and not a press release. If the primary purpose of the document is to sell without any other newsworthy content, then it will be not be distributed.

Personal Opinions: TLMWnewswire will not distribute a release that is intended to harm or exact personal revenge against a person or group.

Sexually Explicit Content: TLMWnewswire does not accept content about sexually explicit material or products. Press releases should not contain references or links to explicitly sexual material, illegal material or profane language.

Opinion Pieces: These are not for general distribution and should be given to publications directly.

Fiction: All TLMWnewswire users must agree to submit only accurate information.

Intent to Harm: TLMWnewswire does not distribute content which intends to harm or exact revenge upon an individual or group. We define this content that it is intended to: incite, advocate or express hatred, bigotry, racism or violence; promote personal opinions attacking an individual or group; maliciously affect a company’s stock; or stalk, defame, defraud, degrade, shame or victimise an individual or group.

Stock Recommendations: TLMWnewswire does not accept releases that promote stock options, stock alerts, stock recommendations, advice or reviews. Publicly traded companies may still promote their own news.
